Pathway to England

The pathway to England runs as follows:

After being introduced to cricket via school or holiday courses and joining a club and playing local League cricket, you may be selected for your District cricket team. Good performances for the District leads to invitation to Kent trials and selection for the Kent Age Group teams (U11/13/15/17).

The best age group players from 15-19 then join the Kent Academy and the best move on to gaining professional contracts with Kent County Cricket club. The very best then of course go on to play for England.

In recent years we have been very successful in progressing young cricketers into Kent age group teams and two of our ‘graduates’ (Warren Lee and Ivan Thomas) have been awarded professional contracts with Kent. Many of our girls are members of the County Squad and Grace Gibbs and Phoebe Frankin have been selected to train with the England U15 and U19 Squads this winter.
